The timing and location of the Strategic Regional Leadership for the Future Conference could not be more pertinent with the current focus on Regional Australia generated by the recent election. Regional Australia requires renewed leadership to action and provide effective governance for the vision of social, environmental, cultural and economic sustainability in the 21^st century.

The conference program includes presentations and panel discussions from 24 experts who will discuss what leadership is in rural and regional Australia and how leaders emerge and what social and institutional structures foster the development of effective leaders.

The conference is presented by Regional Development Australia – Mid North Coast, Regional Studies Network and The University of Adelaide.
