Steve is the Director of the Northern Development Company, a consulting firm focused on the development of the northern beef and agricultural industries. Steve has particular interest in R&D and is Project Manager of a large joint venture R&D program focused on sustainable grazing management systems for northern Australia. Steve is also the Chairman of the local Landcare group, the Victoria River District Conservation Association.

Steve has a Bachelor of Agricultural Science and a PhD in tropical cattle and pasture production.
