TRAIL blazers is an eight day residential program designed specifically for established leaders. It is for leaders who have been engaged in a range of roles for a significant period of time and have worked in complex contexts.
It provides an opportunity for established leaders to reflect and expand their leadership capacity in the company of like-minded peers.
It provides a structured collaborative space for leaders in one industry across the supply and value chain, or across sectors, to build new relationships and frameworks to resolve complex and dynamic issues for rural Australia.
What does TRAILblazers offer?
During the program, TRAILblazers participants will have had opportunities to:
Expand their leadership frameworks, concepts and strategies for a more resilient and robust approach to handling complex issues;
Establish new relationships and networks with other leaders across sectors and regions; and
Develop a fresh perspective and focus for their ongoing professional development and contribution to rural Australia.
Who is TRAILblazers for?
It's a higher end leadership program for experienced leaders.
It's for established leaders who need a time-out to reflect on their own leadership skills, abilities, and capacity for influence and impact.
It's an opportunity for experienced leaders to network and engage with similar leaders from around Australia, developing a cohort of peers as sounding board, resources, and support.
It is for leaders who want to engage in discussion about advanced leadership approaches and theory to develop new frameworks for solution-finding, strategic thinking, and global influence.

Days 1 - 4: Personal Leadership and Effective Cross Sector Engagement
Accommodation and meals are included in the program.
The program will be held in two locations.
First location: Million Star Accommodation
The first phase of the program includes outdoor challenge-based activities. Shelter and equipment is provided, and also allows for spectacular million star views.
Second location: Five Star Accommodation at the Hyatt

The maximum group size is 16 people. This allows the necessary diversity to promote meaningful discussions whilst maintaining a small enough group to facilitate individualised attention and active participation in group activities.
The inaugural TRAILblazers program in April 2010 is now complete - to rave reviews. The program is an 8 day residential leadership program for seasoned, experienced leaders. It included a four day outdoor challenge-based program and four days of conference-style sessions.

John Harrison:"Brilliant! Even though this is the third program of this kind I still got some valuable points from the process. The facilitator has done an outstanding job in putting this together. The program was brilliant and her involvement cannot be underestimated."
Wesley Carter: "I learnt more than I expected. The more I reflect the more of a ten [out of ten] the program is becoming. I really gained a lot of insight into my own leadership and self. Who would have thought I could find an answer to many questions? Keep up the good work."
John De Majnik: "Easily the best course I have ever attended."
Doris Blaesing: "High impact course, got much more out of it than expected."
Steve Walker: "I would personally encourage anyone involved in leadership roles in the forest industry to consider registering for either TRAIL (for emerging leaders) or TRAILblazers (for seasoned leaders). Places are extremely limited (max 16 per course). Such quality programs are few and far between – and with opportunities for cross industry collaboration and fostering of ideas, the main question being asked by most participants on the final day was – can we do it again next year?
Grahame Turk:
"I came seeking wisdom
and wisdom I found
It was just lying there
in a rope on the ground.
All people have issues
to deal with they must
With help from others
giving loving and trust.
Friends came out of nowhere
and gave me a key
To unshackle myself
and just be me.
To be a Master
you don't have to win -
your biggest challenges
come from within."
